I'm LIVING for this. So good. Noct's fear of the consequences of attempting to cry out for help, whether they succeed or not, is a detail that feels very real in the irrational/illogical logic of someone living in an abusive situation.

And I love that Gladio went back for a second round without Ignis, while Noctis thinks Gladio doesn't recognize him so he would assume the same of Ignis even though Ignis figured it out pretty quickly... Like the best chance he'd ever had at getting out came through, probably something he would have wished for too, and know he "knows" from experience that he didn't seize it so he might have no hope left to get out. Ugh. Good shit. Thank you OP.
