It's not so hard that I'm dwelling all day! More like... I don't know, memories of that sort of thing eventually end up like an unwelcome guest you have to kick out of the house. Sometimes they leave right away, and sometimes you have to turn off all the lights and pretend no one is there while they pound on the door. Mostly, it's the former.

This is more so my own person headcanon added to the mix, but I imagined that Noctis growing up with Ardyn as his influence, Noct would try to style his hair very similarly to his “father”. Tho, for some reason, he could never swipe back his thick bangs, so he opt’d to keep his hair long.

I feel he’d have a much different outfit, much more plainer, for stealth missions. But this is his official outfit–I guess!

One chapter discussed this AU!Noct being injured by an Assassin drone, and it made me think that Noctis was riddled with scars, not only on his back, but on his arms and face, neck etc. He just has tons of scars because the training in Niflheim is ruthless.

Noctis doesn’t look good in dark green btw, only Ardyn can pull it off. But I figured since Ardyn is just fucked up, he’d dress Noct up in black–the color that symbolizes Lucian Royalty as an added “fuck you” to the Kingsglaive that chase after him, and Noctis is none the wiser for it.

As for the Magenta, the color reminds Noct of Ardyn’s hair color, (it’s the closest match he can find), and it’s a big of comfort thing for him. It’s like an added measure of security if he ever got stranded on missions, his dad would come for him.

I wanted to add some of Ardyn’s flair to this design, like that weird shawl thing Ardyn has, though I’m not sure if I was really successful with integrating it, tbh.
