Fill: The Wrong Kind of Family (1/?)

From: (Anonymous)
(Authornon notes: Both is good. Also this kind of prompt is really my thing, so I kind of went overboard…all my cookies if you recognize the guy they’re fighting, but I recognize that it’s a pretty obscure reference to a different game series lmao. Hope this is okay so far, anon! I'm working on more now but wanted to at least get the first part up.)

If they get back to Galdin Quay – when they get back to Galdin Quay, Gladio tells himself – he’s going to beat the shit out of Dino Ghiranze.

The reporter (amateur artisan, what a crock of shit) has sent them out to find more ores for his craft. The fact that not a single Hunter is willing to help Ghiranze should have been a tip-off that this wasn’t a smart venture to pursue, but Noctis is too damn willing for his own good – and besides, Gladio remembers as he rolls one of his pursuers off of his shoulders, they had needed the money. The fact that Dino’s willing to share the wares he makes often sweetens the deal and lulls him into more of a sense of security.

Ghiranze is going to regret making them his personal errand boys, Gladio will personally make sure of that.

But he can’t focus on that now. Ignis presses his back against Gladio’s in an attempt to cover all of their sides and Gladio is momentarily thankful for the weight against him. But just as quickly Noctis is calling out for instructions, and Ignis is gone again. Quickly Gladio turns his attention to Prompto, somewhere off to his right, and notices a moment too late the danger lurking. “Prompto, behind you!”

The blond turns back just in time to see his assailant taking a swing at him, which clips his temple and sends him crumbling. And at that point, they all start to fall apart. Gladio’s raring to fight and tries desperately to cover Prompto and himself, but with one person down, that’s one less body to draw attention away and he’s unprepared for their sheer fucking numbers.

With Gladio sufficiently distracted, Ignis finds that he’s busier watching Noctis than his own back, and he’s quickly flanked by some clown with hair the color of cotton candy. He’s unimpressed when he feels the man trying to get a grip on his arm, likely to pin him down, and is prepared to fight back when he sees three people surrounding Noctis. “Behind you, Noct!” he shouts, but all it does is draw the prince’s attention to his predicament and gives his attackers a chance to each draw a weapon on him.

“Alright, nobody move!” The man behind Ignis raises his voice to be heard, and Ignis pauses as he sees the myriad of weapons pointing at Noctis. “You, Specs.” He gives Ignis’ calf a rough nudge with his own foot. “You don’t want them to break his jaw? Get on your knees.”

Ignis breathes just as calmly as normal as he raises his hands and desummons his weapons to show that he is willing to comply. As much as he wants to fight back, he knows that they are outnumbered and that they will hurt Noct – and quite possibly the others – if he attempts to struggle. It unsettles him that their foes seem willing to take prisoners; most of their run-ins with anything not Daemon are battles to the death. Slowly he sinks to his knees and continues to breathe evenly despite the way his hands are roughly tied behind his back. Noctis, in turn, seeing the situation that they are all in, complies just as easily and is tied in a similar manner.

Probably the singular thing that upends Ignis’ world the most is having no control over a situation. And right now, with his hands tied behind his back and a knife at his throat, he certainly has none. But he’ll be damned before he gives up his attempt to carve out even a little bit of it.

He has a plan, albeit quickly made. It may not give him the upper hand, but it will give him a foothold where previously, there was none.

From somewhere behind them, he hears Gladio still struggling to keep men off of him and Prompto, but the younger man’s unconscious state makes it too difficult to fight them all off alone. Ignis dares to glance backwards and feels his stomach twist as he watches the brutes pin down their other comrades, though Gladio is still trying to fight them off. One of them sits atop Gladio and grabs the shield by the hair. He speaks harshly about something that Ignis cannot hear, but he sees that they have their intended effect and Gladio goes completely still.

They are running out of time.

“Noct,” he says, his voice low as if he and the prince are the only people present. He uses the familiar informal name because on the off-chance that their captors don’t know who they’ve picked up, then they have a chance of talking their way out. But if they know that they’ve got the crown prince of Lucis in their hands as well as his retainers, then it’s the end of line for their band. “You need to listen to me. Get out of here and don’t look back. We’ll be right behind you.” He certainly sounds more confident than Noctis feels right now, and the prince presses his lips together.

The adviser knows that Noct could easily warp-strike his way out of the situation. Even though his hands are tied as well, it would be easy for him to summon his weapon and get even a little bit of leverage. Though he’s all for compliance to keep themselves alive, if Noctis escapes and the forces scatter to look for him Ignis feels that the rest of them might have a chance to flee as well. Prompto being subdued and knocked unconscious is a wrinkle he hadn’t planned for, but with any luck he’ll either wake up or one of them can carry him out. The plan would only need minor tweaks to be viable.

But when Ignis swallows, feeling the tip of the knife bob against his throat, and a hand tightens in his hair, he knows that Noctis will not run. The young man’s heart is too big for those he loves despite the aloof air he wears.

“Sure, Noct,” the voice above them sneers. “Go for it. We won’t stop ya.” The taller man, the one holding Ignis, gives the others a nod and they remove their hands from Noctis. The raven-haired man looks up at their captors, but doesn’t move just yet. “Just know that if you make a run for it, there’s nobody here to protect your buddies…” His voice is almost lilting and sing-song as his fingers tighten in Ignis’ hair and the adviser bites back a hiss of discomfort. He refuses to make any sort of noise betraying pain lest that give them something else to use against Noct.

“Get your hands off him.” Noct’s voice is low and as dangerous as he can manage when he’s trussed and not in the position of power that he’s used to. Even now that edge of royal decree is bleeding into his tone.

“Oooh, big words from the little boy.” The coif of pink hair would look ridiculous on most people, but somehow the man holding Ignis looks even more menacing with that wicked smirk curling under the cotton-candy locks. “And what are you gonna do about it?”

Indecision flashes across Noctis’ face and Ignis knows that he is afraid. He’s aware of his own abilities and that he could likely escape, but he’s afraid of getting any of them hurt. Ignis commits himself to a course of action and speaks up before this man can get further into Noct’s head. “For Gods’ sake, Noct, don’t listen - !” But before he can finish the order, a hand roughly covers his mouth and the blunt side of the knife slides up along his jugular.

Noctis is on his feet now, trying to lunge at the pink-haired man, but multiple sets of arms encircle him and hold him back. “Ignis!” he shouts, panic on his face as he struggles. “I said let him go!

“Enough out of you,” the man says, and his voice is harder and far less playful than before. “Listen up, Prince. You’re in way over your head. I know Ghiranze sent you here after the ore, but he couldn’t be assed to tell you just what kind of people you were comin’ after, did he?”

Noct stills completely and his heart slams against his chest. Ghiranze? Dino? Had Dino set them up?

“He forgot to tell you about the Kidman family?” The man shakes his head and his pink hair fluffs around his cheeks. “He was probably hoping you’d get in and out with our ore and he could slip under the radar a while longer. At least he’s smart enough to know to keep his nose out of here; he just sent someone else to do the dirty work.” A chuckle slips out and he shrugs carelessly, belying the fact that he’s still holding a man hostage. “Good news is, this ain’t personal. Bad news is, we’ve gotta decide what exactly to do with the crown prince of Lucis and his caretakers.”

Gladio’s wrists ache as he strains to break the ropes binding him. Fuck, he’s making a list of people who he’s going to break in half after this is over, starting with the guy manhandling Ignis. His better half is a natural at staying calm in the worst of circumstances, but Gladio can’t help the way his own blood boils at seeing this guy so playfully threatening Ignis with a knife to the jugular. “We don’t want your ore,” he calls from his spot on the ground, lifting his head as much as possible despite the goon sitting on him and pressing his face into the dirt. “Let us go and we’ll tell Ghiranze that we couldn’t find it. He ain’t worth the bullshit you’re puttin’ us through.”

Kidman laughs as he turns his attention back to Gladio, though he still holds Ignis firmly. “Boy, you’re in a great place to make demands,” he chuckles. “Your muscles eat away at your brainpower, big boy?” He sounds almost gleeful again. “I wouldn’t say the possibility’s off the table, but I’ve gotta decide just what I’m gonna do with all of you first.” He tosses his head carelessly towards Noctis. “Leland. I want you and a couple of the others to take the three stooges to a cell. I’m gonna take the prince to another one.”

Noctis gives an impulsive jerk against the arms holding him. They’re not even going to be kept together? “Wait,” he says, but Kidman has clearly lost all interest in talking to him. “I’ll go with you if you let the rest of them go, alright?”

Kidman rolls his eyes and tucks away the knife before he sticks his pinky in his ear as if cleaning out the wax; his free hand drifts down to grab Ignis’ bound wrists and jerk the adviser to his feet. “Great listener, aren’t you?” he shoots back tartly. “Listen, prince, because I’m only gonna say it one more time before I get bored. You’re all hangin’ with the Kidman family until I figure out what to do with you. And if you keep harassin’ me about it, you might be leaving with fewer people – assuming you leave at all.” His hazel eyes seem to glow as he turns his sharp gaze to Noctis. “Am I clear?”

The way he can mood swing from bored manchild to deadly viper sends a chill down Noctis’ spine and he knows he has no choice but to nod. “Crystal,” he offers.

Here you go, OP! I hope you like it <3

=============

“Oi, Prompto.”

“Hmm?”

“Stop picking at it.”

“I can’t help it… it’s just there.”

Noctis sighed, tutting at his partner. “You’re going to make yourself bleed again if you keep it up. I know you hate that barcode, but you can’t scratch it off.”

“It’s ugly as hell is what it is.” Prompto pouted, leaning on the mop in his hand. “I even have to wear these stupid wristbands so that customers don’t get worried.”

“It’s probably for the best, you know that. There’s folks around here that aren’t as welcoming as I am.” Noctis tapped his fingers on the metal counter in front of him, staring at the mess of keys on his till. “I can’t believe it’s only half 5 and the place is this dead…”

“Yeah, well I can’t believe I got stuck on cleaning duty today.” Prompto huffed, giving the floor a token wipe. “Least you get to sit down.”

“Oooh, aren’t I lucky.” Noctis threw him a sarcastic glare, shoving his chin into his hand. “I would quite happily smash my head into this cash drawer if I wouldn’t get posthumously billed for damages.”

Prompto snorted with laughter, pulling a slight smile onto his face. “Hey, c’mere a sec.”

Dipping the mop back into the bucket, Prompto walked over to Noctis’ cramped cashier booth. “What’s up?”

He leant over the plexiglass between them and took Prompto’s hand, pulling it up and closer to his face. With small, delicate movements he slid his fingers under the wristbands and pushed them upwards, revealing a mess of scratches and bite marks covering the jet black barcode staining Prompto’s wrist. “This looks so painful, Prom… you can’t keep doing this to yourself. It doesn’t mean anything anymore, it doesn’t define you.” He leant down, placing gentle kisses to the bumps and grooves of his skin. “You’re always going to be Prompto, ex-Niff or not.”

“Noctis…” Prompto was biting his lip, trying to hold back tears. “I… I’ll try to stop. I promise.” He closed his eyes. “You always look so disappointed in me.”

“Only because you’re hurting yourself for no reason. I know it’s hard for you to come to terms with all of this change, but it’s all in the past. It’s nothing to worry about any longer.” Noctis fixed him with a steady gaze. “You can beat this. You’re better than some stupid mark on your arm.”

Prompto held his eyes for a moment before turning away, slowly pulling his wrist free from Noctis’ grip and returning to his mop. “I… I need a minute. I’ll see you soon.” He picked up the bucket and walked off into one of the far aisles of the store. With another sigh, Noctis turned back to the rest of the store and waited - either for a customer or for his boyfriend, whichever came to him first.

By the time Prompto had worked up the courage to speak to Noctis again, he was bagging up some groceries for an elderly couple who he’d seen in the store a lot - they seemed very nice, and often stayed around when it was quiet like this to chat with the cashiers. They were laughing about something - probably a weird story that Noctis hasn’t told them before - and the beaming grin on Noctis’ face made Prompto’s heart thud a little louder in his chest. He missed that smile. He missed it a lot.

With a wave, Noctis said goodbye to the couple and went to sit back down. He paused when he spotted Prompto hanging out by the end of the tills, looking awfully shy. He motioned him over, holding out his hand. “I’ve got an idea.” Prompto wandered over, keeping his eyes to the floor. When he was close enough, Noctis grabbed his arm again and pulled the wristband off. “I’m gonna show you that this means nothing of what it used to.”

He gasped, trying to yank his hand away out of instinct, but Noctis tightened his grip and pulled him closer. “Noct…”

“Just trust me, okay?” Noctis gently rubbed his thumb across Prompto’s knuckles, reassuring him. When he nodded, Noctis turned him around to face the till, standing behind him and giving his waist a squeeze. He twisted Prompto’s wrist to face the scanner, and slowly passed it across the red beam.

BEEP

Noctis held his breath, really hoping that this wouldn’t screw up. The system seemed to take an eternity, but it finally registered something.

WNK NERDS CHRY WTMLN

They both paused for a moment, before Prompto burst out laughing in Noctis’ arms. “Oh my god, I’m a nerd. I’m literally a nerd.”

“No, you’re nerds. Plural.” Noctis chuckled, kissing the back of Prompto’s ear. “See? There’s nothing to worry about. Cherry and watermelon are the best flavour of Nerds; ergo you’re the best kind of nerd there is.”

Prompto choked, a blush filling up his freckled cheeks. “N-Noctis..!” He wiggled free of his boyfriend’s arms, turning around to wrap his over Noctis’ shoulders, squeezing tightly. “Thank you…” He nuzzled into his neck. “I love you so much.”

Noctis hugged him back, kissing the top of his head. “And I love you too. You massive dweeb.”

Gladio really gets off on denying himself and getting Noctis to act like a king and taking control of something. Even if it's Gladio's dick.

+ Noctis making Gladio fuck him with a strap on
++ Noctis telling Gladio he's too lazy to do it so Gladio better milk himself
+++ Noctis sucking Gladio while he's still wearing the cage

Yes please someone do this. I can't write stories for sh*t but this would be so good.

There’s no reply from Noct when Nyx wakes up. Nyx tries not to let it bother him -- Noctis could have just been insanely busy -- but his stomach seems to drop into his boots anyway. Then he realizes it’s partly because he’s starving.

Mealtime adjustments: he forgot about factoring those in when reconditioning himself to be nocturnal. Good thing he’s got instant meals in his fridge. He snacks on an apple while the microwave runs, then wolfs the whole packet down almost without tasting it. His stomach could handle more but he holds off. He should eat with or after Noctis when he’s guarding him, and dinner is only in a couple of hours.

He brushes his teeth, washes the dishes, packs an overnight bag, and checks his phone again. Still no messages. Well actually, there’s one from Libertus, and Nyx sends a quick reply accepting an invitation to compare schedules and hang out if they get the same day off. Typical guard duty, even of important persons, has a rotating schedule that allows people to unwind. Otherwise you’ve just got sloppy security when people inevitably burn out.

That reminds him to text Hessy as well, to let her know he might not be able to make the weekend. He winces a little imagining what she’ll have to say about his unreliability.

When he’s done Noctis still hasn’t replied, and it’s time for Nyx to go if he doesn’t want to be late. He grabs his bag and heads out.

“Oh good, you’re here,” Crowe says when Nyx walks up the winding driveway that climbs past the Caelum’s immaculately manicured front lawn. She squints at his chest until Nyx realizes she’s looking for the dinky little clip-on security badge he got handed at the gate, and he shifts his hold on his backpack to bring it into view. “Come on, I’ll give you the tour.”

Nyx has a moment of existential terror that she’s also on the night shift and will cockblock him horrifically and also kill him when she finds out that he’s attracted to his charge, but then he remembers that Amicitia said she was head of the day shift. When he questions her, she shrugs.

“I live closest, and the evening guard has to actually guard. Plus Amicitia knows I sponsored you so I got tapped.” She punches him in the shoulder. “Feel grateful. I’m putting off the next episode of Lords of Eos for you.”

“I can’t believe you watch that crap,” Nyx says, who just last week binge-watched an entire season of Imperials Above Us and even now still sometimes has the urge to blurt out “IMPERIALS” with the accompanying hand motion.

“It’s better than your stupid conspiracy show,” Crowe retorts, proving that she’s basically psychic. “Anyway, here, come on. Front door is on a fingerprint electronic lock. You should be in the system.”

Nyx presses his thumb to the pad. It blinks green and the door’s deadbolt -- deadbolts? He hears more than one motor turning -- pulls back. Crowe opens the door.

“Welcome to the Caelum residence,” she says.

Nyx steps inside and has to work not to gape. He’s used to wealth, given that he works at one of the richest companies in Lucis, but somehow that’s different from seeing it in a house. There are columns in the foyer, and a spiral staircase: Nyx feels like he’s walked into an actual palace.

“I know,” Crowe says, not unsympathetically. “You get used to it. Come on.” She starts moving again, pointing out the kitchen, three bathrooms, four guest rooms, a living room, a separate entertainment room, the door leading out into the backyard (“not your problem”), the garage and laundry room (“you can use them if you need to”), the second and third staircases, and the Crownsguard war room. They spend an hour there getting Nyx up to speed.

“Okay,” Crowe says, leaning back in her chair and stretching. “That’s pretty much it. You look like your brain’s melting anyway, so let’s finish up. I’ll take you upstairs to meet your principal.”

Nyx agrees. They swing by the kitchen for a glass of water and then climb the second staircase up up to the second floor. The decor here is slightly more normal -- cream carpets, painted walls. There’s what looks like an original Yunalesca painting hanging at the end of the hall.

“Regis has the master bedroom,” Crowe says, and points to a set of double doors. She moves down the hallway. “He usually doesn’t come back ‘till late. These three are technically guest beds, but more often than not Noctis’ cohort stays in them. They’re not here tonight but I’m sure you’ll meet them soon… And here. This room is Noctis Caelum’s.”

She raps sharply on it, a quick one-two tap. There’s a pause. It doesn’t sound like anybody in the room is moving.

“Mr. Caelum,” Crowe says. She pitches her voice to carry. “Mr. Caelum, please come meet your new security detail.”

There’s another pause, shorter, before Noctis Caelum opens the door.

He does it fast, like he wants to get it over with. Nyx notices that first, and then is struck by the rest: Noct is in casual clothing, a thin tee that’s stretched over his chest and clings to his abdomen, and a pair of low-hanging sweatpants that reveal the elastic band of his boxers. His feet are bare.

“Mr. Caelum, Nyx,” Crowe says, oblivious to Nyx’s sudden speechlessness. “Nyx, Noctis Caelum. Meet your new best friend for the next couple of weeks.”

jkfsjkfdlkdfslksdfklj *readsreadsreads--reaches the end* Ahhhhh wh-why are you such a tease, author!anon ;___; I mean, you're a good kind of tease, though. Now I get to spend all day at work tomorrow musing on this update and wondering what awaits us once Crowe leaves the building...

If you'd like to explain your references, feel free! I... actually don't really watch much tv orz, so they flew over my silly head. xD (I got the Yunalesca painting one, though!)

Now, then, Noct... WHAT ARE YOU DOING, DUDE?! Even though it actually makes perfect sense for him to dress like that in his house lolol. I now see what you meant about Noct and how it's uncertain if he wants to be treated right by good guy Nyx. I wonder why Noct never texted him back, though? *side-eyes him* Is this part of some secret and insidious seduction plan he's got hidden inside those sweatpants?! ...or is it as simple and innocuous as missing the message on his phone? Ehh, either way, let's just hope Nyx can keep it together in front of Crowe, haha.

And wow, the Caelums are... obscenely rich. Like woah. There's just no other way of putting it. o_o From the moment the fingerprint lock appeared, I was like are you fucking kidding me Regis whose idea was this, yours or Clarus'?

Also in response to your response to my response to your amazing fill's previous part: I also can't imagine Nyx bragging to Regis about THAT lol ('s like, DOES NOT COMPUTE), but I'm glad the 22JS scene gave you a good laugh! :D

As always, please take care, Author!anon! Your wonderful writing (and witty way with words!) continues to parch my thirst whilst simultaneously causes me to devolve into... uh... well, just don't mind me, I'll be over here in the corner... imagining what wonders await us in the bedroom of the elusive and mysterious Noctis... and hitting f5... ;m;~<3

Noctis/Ignis Sharing the burden

Date: 2017-01-19 02:48 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
After Altissia, Noctis is able to get the blessings of the Six and defeat Ardyn. He takes the throne of Lucis and the burden of the Crystal like he was born to.
After 114 Lucian kings, there a fairly well understood pattern to how the Crystal will drain the life of the king. (For example, after 5 years of being tied to the Crystal a king will being to go gray, after 7 years he'll become more easily fatigued and will experience regular joint pain.)

For some reason, Noctis isn't weakening at the expected rate, it's barely draining him at all.
Ignis, his Advisor and Consort, on the other hand isn't doing as well. His eyesight hasn't returned, and his health has been in a very slow decline. (Most attribute this to long lasting effects of the wounds he sustained in Altissia)

Eventually it's discovered that the Crystal identifies Ignis as an intrinsic part of Noctis and is drawing from both of them. So Noctis will live longer than he otherwise would have, but Ignis will probably die younger.

-Noctis is horrifie when he finds out, Ignis is relieved.

Nope, not too much. Never enough. ;)

Ardyn/Noctis, Falling for him

Date: 2017-01-19 03:00 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Ardyn massively fucking up his plans by actually falling in love with Noctis. He doesn't have to be redeemed but maybe becomes less of a murdery asshole?

+ Ardyn is really pissed off about the whole thing at first.
+ When he comes to terms with it theres some really awkward flirting.
+ Noct is totally clueless for the longest time.

OR If the filler were so inclined they could make it full on angst filled tragedy and that would be cool too.

Hello, OP, as a potential writer, do you mind if it's in Ardyn's POV? 'Cause if not, I totally want this prompt. I have some ideas and Ardyn's voice saying write so he can "spend some quality time with my dear, little boy".
From: (Anonymous)
During the 10 year gap, Gladio and Ignis manage to keep in touch and go on hunts and generally just have each other's backs. News goes around that Ardyn is back and they find a poster with Prompto's face on it and go to find him

+10 it takes a while to find him, every MT lair they find is a dead end

+100 once they find him, Prompto is a mess- blank eyes, chained/tied/gagged. Kinda babbling to himself, covered in blood, sweat, his own filth, MT blood

+1000 Ignis and Gladio come across Ardyn hosing Prompto down- there are too many MT's to risk immediate rescue so they sneak in constantly to try and figure out what they can do and Prompto just gets worse and worse

Btw I'd prefer if Noct was still in the crystal and that it be from either Gladio or Ignis's point of view.

I know it's a lot, and it's all up to the filler how it goes down!

Ignis/Noctis cross dressing

From: (Anonymous)
Ignis sees the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, a woman who steals his breath away--which is surprising because he has faithfully been in love with his charge since he was a child. He decides to take the jump and approach her, because her silky black hair and red dress that glitters under the lights. She looks so much like his prince....

Noctis needs a night out at the club with Prompto without anyone needing to know who he is... and definitely doesn't expect for Ignis to wrap his arms around his waist and then nuzzle against him.

"You are utterly ravishing, my dear."

Gimme sexy and sultry Noctis in a red dress absolutely charming the shit out of Ignis, Ignis realizing only when Noctis whispers his name ("I never told you my name...") who it is.

Bonus points if you have Ignis fuck Noctis against a wall outside, with his dress riding up against the bricks.

Bonus points if Gladio's with Ignis and realizes immediately who it is and doesn't tell him for shits and giggles.

Infinity points if Noctis talks about how long he's waited for Ignis to do that.
