I head canon that Noct has some serious separation anxiety, what with losing his mother, watching Luna get taken by the empire, and then having his father be very distant growing up. I'd love to see some scenes with Noct at any age having bad episodes because of his separation anxiety; panic attacks, getting so upset he throws up, wetting himself, freaking out in a public place, refusing to sleep without someone else in bed with him, refusing to sleep at all etc.

Would love to see that his separation anxiety relates mostly to him missing his father at first, then extends to missing the chocobros after his father dies, or perhaps to Luna (should you choose to keep her alive instead of killing her).
