The basic idea is that part of the process to prep MT's is to induce presentation as omegas at a young age. This allows A) a convenient way to mass produce MT's and B) an additional level of control by way of hormones (imperial alphas taught to assert in a certain way? remotely triggered bursts of hormones to manipulate the unruly? basic grooming?).
So anybody and everybody high in the ranks can (and does) mess around with Prompto during the journey, try to get him to betray the objects of his pining and punishing him with sexual frustration when he refuses. Maybe it gets to the point where it's dangerous for him to keep refusing (think pon farr)?
This is, of course, all setup for boyband romance because of course it is.
Bonus:
- the induction is done at the same time and location on the body as the barcodes, meaning that claiming takes place on the wrist (yay hand fetishization) - Ardyn/Prompto at some/multiple points (because I'm trash) - whether or not the others notice (Prompto might drown himself in perfume), he's just sitting by the fire practically in heat and Suffering over them - his photos get progressively more thirsty - he starts constantly wearing plugs/vibrators, just to find some relief (Ignis catches him and disapproves but is kinda turned on?) - he starts wearing less 'cause he's always hot but that just makes the others notice and start thirsting - the other three aren't all alphas and they don't care about playing by the roles - praise kink for Prompto because he deserves it
