Insomnia has always protected omegas and considered them equal citizens, maybe even their very own prince noctis is an omega?
Prompto was not so lucky and never escaped his homeland. Instead he was picked out and gifted to Ardyn to serve as his pet/concubine.
So when the trio first encounter Ardyn and see the omega being treated in such a way, they're furious and determined to set him free and take him into their pack for protection.
It's entirely up to the reader if one of the chocobros (or all of them, im all for the pack bros foursome) end up falling in love!
