That is a very fair point with Regis, I just imagined Noctis to be more sheltered. Not as in not fully trained in combat, but with more focus in and around the court and politics. Sorry if it came across as no training at all, I was just thinking it was focused in another direction. That way, Noctis would be working with Ignis creating an early connection. Mother wise, I had an idea with Aulea and to me makes the most sense. I just can't see Regis taking another woman into his life for one. As for the brother thing well... I wouldn't want to give too much away. Well all the same let me know what you think.
