Spoilers for Xenogears obviously, but I couldn't help but be reminded of this because of Noctis's fate and Ignis's endless devotion and that we had the Xenogears composer on Ignis's DLC lol.
So like, I'm thinking about Ignis and Noctis having some kind of Fei and Elly deal. Soulmates across time, since the beginning. Maybe they were of different nations, stations, and genders in previous lives. But the same thing would always happen. The Astrals have other plans in mind, since Noctis is just a pawn to them, to be killed off cruelly once no longer of use. Maybe there were others who also loved Noctis in these lives. But the one constant across all these lives is Ignis, who always loved and was loved back, but was never able to save Noctis from this fate, to free themselves from the cycle of death and the gods' tyranny. Until now.
