Nyx makes a pact with the Lucii-- he can die when he reaches Altissia. Luna needs someone to help her on her way to forging the covenants and Nyx can do that. But the further they get from Insomnia and the more they come to learn one another, the more Nyx understands about the Prophecy and the Covenants Luna is making.
Show someone caring about Luna's well-being as a person. If Noctis had Ignis denounce the prophecy to keep him safe, then someone should be there to try and save Luna.
