Imagine a 6 year old Iggy. Could be pregame Ignis who has recently moved to the Citadel. Could be ingame Ignis de-aged and reverted to his 6 year old self.
The adults love little Iggy. He's polite, well-behaved and quiet. He's the perfect kid.
Then one of the adults do something innocent like tap a wooden spoon or ruler or remove their belt. Cue Iggy reacting very badly because he thinks he's about to be beaten again. Maybe he cries and apologizes, or quietly bends over the nearest table or chair and just waits for it to start. The adults finally understand why Ignis tries so hard to be good.
Lots of hugs and comfort for little Ignis.
