That he didn't really win at all and all he did was buy some time for himself before the darkness comes back worse than ever? What if Ignis is doing his best to cover up the truth and goes to extreme lengths to keep Noctis in the dark, and once he actually finds out he resorts to extreme methods to keep Noctis from sacrificing himself? I want full-on, so protective-he's-dangerous Ignis.
[Episode Ignis Spoilers] - super protective Noctis
Date: 2017-12-15 09:40 am (UTC)When the dust settles after defeating Ardyn and everyone starts to rebuild their lives, Noctis finds himself dwelling on how close he came to losing Ignis in the keep. If Ravus hadn't got them there in time...they'd have been arriving to collect a body. The person who he had had with him virtually every day of his life since he was three would not have been there any more. He'd have lost the man who is his big brother in everything but DNA.
He becomes overzealously protective of Ignis: won't let him take on any tasks that involve leaving the Citadel, checks up on him constantly and becomes so clingy & tactile that Gladio finds him having to say "Noct, can you get off my boyfriend so I can hug him too?" fairly often.
They have to gently reassure him he's in no danger of losing Ignis now.

Date: 2017-12-15 10:06 am (UTC)The thing is, Clarus KNOWS they're together and couldn't be happier for them. He's never said anything, wanting to let Gladio come to him in his own time...except now time has run out. Clarus knows he and Regis won't be surviving and he wants his son to know how proud he is of him and that he and Ignis have Clarus's blessing.
He brings it up in such a way Gladio and Ignis don't suspect he knows what's going to happen but they realise after Insomnia falls exactly why he did it.
