OT4 Chocobros - The Good Place AU

Ignis, assigned as the advisor to a prince who wants to do anything BUT the work in front of him. Having to deal daily with the prince's loud best friend's boundless energy and their antics.
Gladio, who has to train said prince and best friend of the prince. And as much as he loves Ignis' food, he just wants to spend eternity eating cup noodles. Except Cup Noodles are in the Bad Place, and they're in the Good Place where everything is organic and the meat is grass fed and fresh every day (also put in place just to torture him).
Noctis, who - thanks to Gladio and Ignis - will be eternally bound to royal duties and status even in the after life.
And Prompto, who is constantly surrounded by Lucian nobility -- people smarter, stronger, and richer than he is -- in the forms of Ignis, Gladio, and Noctis, and he's but a commoner (with a certain Niff-related secret) who never worked up the courage to talk to the very prince in front of him when he was alive.
What did they do to get into the Bad Place? Ignis, so serious about his duties at the cost to his personal relationships. Gladio, one to lash out in anger and burn bridges rather than talk them out. Noctis, the lazy prince who neglected his duties and left it to others at the cost of his own people. And Prompto, so consumed in his low self-worth and feeling of not belonging that he never took action in moments when it could've made a difference. Or maybe, none of them deserve to be in the Bad Place at all? And they were put there by the vengeful Architect, Ardyn. It's up to you!
So what happens when they find out the truth? Are they reset? Do they try to get to the real Good Place? What if only two or three of them can go and someone has to stay behind? Or do they try to restart their lives? Perhaps, at the start, one or more of the characters are mistaken for someone else of the same name who lived a much more giving life and was put into the "Good Place" by accident, roping the others into their secret as well. It's up to you!
I'd love it if it took a similar tone to the actual show - humor and good banter with a decent amount of heart and angst. With possible flashbacks to their life being alive where maybe they met but were too self-engrossed to notice each other or would JUST miss each other. Though Noct would most definitely already know Ignis and Gladio, but maybe Ignis and Gladio and Prompto never met.

Ardyn stripped him naked on the floor of the airship – the MTs didn't care, and certainly Ignis was beyond protest – and resentfully attended to his wounds. His chest was a mass of solid bruising over broken and cracked ribs, and there was some kind of brain injury, to boot. One shoulder had been dislocated and roughly put back. And certainly the cold metal of the floor was doing no good for the hypothermia that was setting in. Having the MTs toss him out into the ocean below would likely be a kindness in the long run. Unfortunately, Ardyn did want to use Ignis as the bait to lure Noctis into the heart of Graela, and thence into the crystal.
He did what he had to. Though doubtless he'd get not one word of thanks when Ignis awoke, wrapped tenderly in a blanket and not bleeding to death from internal injuries. Ardyn tried so hard not to be bitter, to have a positive outlook, to rise and greet each dawn with a smile, but what reward was there for him? An eternity of thankless nothing.
He was still in a black mood when they arrived, and gathered Ignis into his arms roughly and without care. Ignis gasped, too weak to scream most likely, and his eyes fluttered, opening to just thin slits.
"Noct," Ignis whispered, and tried to stir.
"Shut up, Specs," Ardyn said, glaring down with his borrowed face. "You nearly died."
The corner of Ignis' mouth twitched, as if attempting a smile, and Ardyn felt vicious pleasure. Using the nickname had been the right choice, good – he'd hate to give up the game so early.
"My apologies." Ignis swallowed, as if meaning to say more, but slipped back into sleep before he could continue.

Date: 2018-01-26 06:09 am (UTC)I found a few gorgeous pieces of art that had Prompto all alone after being left behind by the others and Pryna finds him and stays. I’d like something like that, and it could be along those lines or through Ardyn being a dick, Prompto thinks they left him but Noctis and the others are looking everywhere for him. Phonecalls don’t work because Ardyn doesn’t want to make it THAT easy.
Prompto and Pryna begin doing what they can to start taking down Niflheim and start gaining a reputation and it isn’t long before Aranea tracks him down and decides, “well, SOMEBODY needs to make sure you don’t stupidly kill yourself, guess it’s me”. I just need some Aranea/Prompto sibling type fluff and happy type ending when the others finally catch up and then Prom gets tired when Aranea and Noctis get into a fight over who gets to keep him.

Date: 2018-01-26 11:45 am (UTC)So of course the Shield of the King has the duty to protect the King with his life, even from himself, which is kind of how Gladio justifies how mean he is to Noct sometimes. But what if it was a bit darker than that? What if protecting Noct from himself means relieving him of his duty permanently? What if a Shield's secondary duty is to watch the King as well, and make sure they can actually fulfill their duty? And then take it from them if the Shield deems they can't.
Whether the Amicitias are like distant cousins of the Lucii or some other fucked reason or another, the gist is that an Amicitia takes their King's place and powers if they're the ones that kill them.
So let's say Post-Altissia. Noct is deep in depression and Gladio is just so disappointed and angry that he starts thinking that he'll have to do what some of his ancestors have had to do in the past. And instead of the Malboro in Cartanica, it's Gladio finally deciding that he doesn't believe Noct is worthy anymore.
+If we see each of the bros perspectives leading up to this. Gladio, really thinking this through and coming to the conclusion that this is best for Noct and his people. Ignis, blind but not stupid, anxiously noticing how closed off Gladio is being. Noctis, noticing how Gladio seems to be getting genuinely hostile towards him.
++If Gladio isn't a heartless bastard, and genuinely (and sorrowfully) believes that if he doesn't do it, Noct will kill himself somehow
+++If Prompto, being clued in by Ignis to watch Gladio closely ends up standing between him and Noct (since I imagine Noct would be too broken-hearted to really defend himself and Iggy is blind), and maybe is the one to finally talk him down (with a gun to his head?)
I ask for no character death though please, I really just want a thing about the bros debating duty and morality and right and wrong and someone to give Gladio a wake up call that what works for him doesn't work for Noct. And the aftermath if possible.
