Friends, I have never been the type to want fanfic to resemble real life, but I lost my dad this summer and it's about to be my first birthday without him. I could use some fanfic therapy where it's Noct's birthday on the road after Regis dies, and the bros take care of him and make him feel loved. Fine by me if you want to take it in a shippy way or not, as long as everyone is there for Noct.

I prefer the focus to be on the heartwarming bro love rather than on Noct being sad.
