Cor hides his sexuality for fear of judgement.

When he's young, Cor hears a (totally made up) rumour that gay people were kicked out of the Crownsguard because they were somehow judged unfit.

It makes it hell for him when he enters his late teens and realises he's attracted to men. He's convinced he'll lose the family he's found for himself and convinced Clarus and Regis will he ashamed of him. Easily solved though - he'll just stay celibate!

He manages till he's in his early twenties and then one night, at a royal gala when he's not on duty, he ends up kissing a young ambassador in the gardens. They're spotted by Clarus, who immediately comes to find Cor when the event is over.

He's only planning on teasing his stoic little brother about getting some at last but to his astonishment, Cor FREAKS. He begs Clarus not to tell Regis, promises it will never happen again, apologises over and over and ends up sobbing and pleading not to be sent away.

Clarus is horrified Cor's been keeping this all to himself for years and assures him that a) such bigotry has never been permitted in the Crownsguard and b) he doesn't care who Cor likes so long as he's happy. He adores Cor and nothing is ever going to change that!

Lots and lots of comfort ensues!
