I like to think the Crystal gave the royal line a multitude of special abilities to go with the magic and one was having visions. Let's say leading up to the roadtrip, Regis has visions of Prompto as a child in niflheim and in the future on their journey

+The first time Regis sees Prompto experimented on as a baby and smuggled out, but it must have been a dream because here's Prompto trying to do math homework with Noctis in the living room

++The secomd time Regis gets glimpses of Prompto in a tank, being punished and held down by MT's but that isn't possible because Prompto just arrived to take Noctis to the arcade

+++Another time Regis sees Prompto being injected with daemon blood, running through the snowy tundras of Gralea and trying to evade a giant mechanical beast but that isn't right because he's here posing for photos at his and Noctis's graduation

++++Just before Noctis and co leave for the big roadtrip, Regis's final vision is of Prompto in Ardyn's clutches and it's the worst vision of all because Ardyn is toying with him, abusing him, etc and Prompto looks dead already and Regis finally gets a glimpse of that barcode on all MT's but that isn't right because he's climbing up the stairs to tell Noctis it's time to go on their trip

++++++Each time Noctis keeps asking Regis why he looks at Prompto funny sometimes but Regis can't bring himself to tell him

+++++++Regis gives Prompto a hug almost as if he never wants to let go and he tells him to be strong and that he's one of the bravest people he has ever known

I am a HUGE sucker for that trope where a character is forced to strip erotically in front of other people, because if they don't their friends will be killed (their friends who are also watching it happen and maybe getting turned on by it y/y?)

Everyone has a mark that disappears when they meet their soulmate, or their soulmate dies. Soulmates can fulfill each others roles too.

Prompto's barcode is where the mark would be so everyone mistakes it for his mark. But his mark disappeared when he met Noctis and, since Prompto doesn't feel worthy of being the soulmate to a prince, he doesn't let anyone know that the mark disappeared. So everyone believes that Prince Noctis' soulmate died. It's not until Prompto takes Noctis' place in the Crystal that the truth is revealed.

I'm interested in a Noctis PoV.

In all the chaos of the evacuation of Altissia, a woman suddenly shoved a baby/toddler into Prompto's arms before the panicking crowd dragged them apart. He barely had time to react, much less ask any questions, and in the aftermath there's next to no chance of locating the mother again, assuming she even survived.

So. He's a dad now, his bestie is blind, his other two besties are at each others' throats in their grief and sense of helplessness, 'home' is long gone, and the Evil Empire is on pace to conquer all of Eos. What's a photographer to do?

AU in which Prompto, the omega prince of Niflheim, has to marry alpha!Noctis as a peace deal with Lucis. Noctis doesn't want to marry Prompto since he is in love (or has already a relationship) with Luna, but he is forced to do it anyway.

I just want to see them initially not getting along and slowly falling in love!.

++Prompto falls in love with Noct from the first time he saw him, but Noct only see him as an obstacle between he and Luna.
+++They are pressured to have a baby for the sake of the peace deal.

"The Bond"

Ignis was very pleased with the last meal he cooked for Noctis. A simple breakfast omelette, as necessitated by the King's picky eating habits and the magic he was imbuing the food with. The spices had a slightly bitter tang which mellowed into a full, almost sweet flavor. Prompto declared it orgasmic in one breath and in the next asked suspiciously what kind of eggs Ignis had used.

"Normal ones," he replied, staring Prompto down until he gave in and asked for seconds. Ignis was relieved he didn't need to lie, and moreso that he hadn't needed exotic eggs. He'd have been in trouble if he'd needed to work this particular magic with fresh ingredients; there'd have been no time to gather them after Noct returned.

The other half of the necessary components were in his cup. Though he'd made sure to have one drink a day since he'd learned the spell and its requirements, the brew still tasted vile, and it was all he could do to keep each sip down. The thought crossed his mind that it tasted like death, which. Well. Of course it did.

He'd expected to feel a pull, some kind of connection to his King as proof that the ancient protection had been successfully invoked. But even as they walked into Insomnia, he wasn't positive. Faith made very poor armor, in his opinion, but he hardly had a choice.

Since becoming blind, he'd had greater need of books than ever before. The Six were cruel that way. He had been certain that Ardyn must have left a trail through history, and that the lore of the Lucii had to have been recorded somewhere. He'd been to Gralea again, and to Tenebrae, and once to the ruins of the central library in Insomnia. Necessity demanded that he travel with a companion who could read – preferably someone who was incurious and who wouldn't tell anyone what he was researching. Talcott was, unfortunately, a bit too much of a scholar himself, and clever enough to be able to piece together that Ignis was looking for weapons – any knowledge that could be used to help Noctis defeat Ardyn decisively, and restore the world to light.

What he'd finally stumbled over – literally – was a set of scrolls left behind in a hut outside Taelpar Crag by a scholar who'd lost her daughter to the Tempering Grounds. She'd wanted to petition King Mors to end what she'd called human sacrifices to preserve the immoral reign of the Kings of Lucis.

Ignis thought of the rites and rituals painstakingly described as more of an instruction manual. Ways to lend power and strength to the reigning king, instructions for partaking of the sacrament of royal magic to warp through space and summon weapons, brutal training regimens, and ways to purge the self of all but the will to serve. He mentally dismissed all the techniques that were – or had been – extant in King Regis' time, and focused on those which had been abandoned in the past. One that he found most intriguing was called simply the bond. The head of the Crownsguard up through the time of King Cautis had formed – willingly, the text emphasized – this bond with the king. Should the king die, the Six would take the life of the Crownsguard head instead, as penalty for the failure to protect the king.

Ignis was not the leader of what remained of the Crownsguard – Cor had assumed that role de facto – but he was the most expendable, and he was willing. For his King, for his country, for the future, what wouldn't he give?

Finding the ingredients and recreating the spell had taken a long, patient, and secretive year. The hardest thing to hide was how happy he felt to have made this choice. Gladio had always been perceptive, and Ignis worried that perhaps Clarus had told him about the bond's existance. But after a few months of probing questions, Gladio finally took Ignis out hunting and told him at camp, seated next to him by the fire, "If you've met someone, I'm happy for you, you know that, right?" His knuckles had rapped Ignis' knee almost playfully. "I'd like to meet them."

To correct Gladio's mistake would have been a serious error. Ignis just smiled down at his cup of tea (no beer or coffee; post-apocalyptic life was hell) and shook his head. "Not yet," he said. "But you will."

His faith that Noctis would return was certain. He would defeat Ardyn; the sun would rise again; Noctis would become the king who united all of Eos, as he'd sworn to Prompto. Ignis wished he could see that future become reality, but then again... he wished he could see many things.

When Noct returned, he'd have given so much see him one last time, though over the years Prompto had become nearly as good at descriptions as he was at taking photos. He told Ignis how Noctis' hair was graying and his face had grown into adult lines – he looks a lot like his father, he said. Ignis could nearly imagine it, and that would have to suffice.

Now, confronting Ardyn before the Citadel, Ignis realized he'd forgotten that the bond might very well have existed when Ardyn was in line for the throne. His hands went clammy as he tried to avoid attracting attention; with one poisonous, truthful comment, Ardyn could make Noctis falter and doubt. How fortunate, then, that Ardyn only had eyes for the King, and not his retainers.

And then Ardyn was dead, and the Lucii needed to be summoned to redeem their promise and restore the light. Noctis returned to the throne room alone, and Ignis fought wave after wave of daemons, no longer held at bay by whatever power Ardyn had held over them. He knew he could not afford to fall in battle; as he'd held his faith with Noct, so now Noct was trusting him, even if he didn't know it yet.

He felt when Noctis died, pain stabbing through his breastbone and sending white-hot fire up and down his spine, and allowed grief to stagger him for just a moment before pouring his remaining energy back into hope. The daemons melted away, and Prompto fell into Ignis' side with a gasp, or a sob. For a long moment, they leaned against each other – either that or fall – and then, as Gladio rallied, finally, slowly jerked into movement: back up the stairs, up to the hall, to the throne, where –

"Thank fuck you can't see this," Gladio said, voice raw with unshed tears, and at the same time Prompto pushed forward, saying, "Help me get him down, please."

The sound of a body being lowered to the floor, and a sickening scrape of steel on stone; Gladio muttering on three, I pull you push; and then...

I am willing, Ignis told whatever gods would listen, as the pain blossomed through him. He thought he heard Gladio exclaim, and imagined Noct blinking his eyes open; he smiled, even as he felt his spirit tear free of his lifeless body and the world was around him no more.

No that's okay I didn't need my heart to be in one piece, it's fine......

Dude. OP here, and let me tell you just how ridiculously spoiled I feel when not only do I immediately get a fill, it's literally everything I could have wanted. The cute little horrible snakemouth Quay deer! I absolutely love the building creepiness running up against Prompto just going "Stop that." Comic timing's not an easy thing to pull off in text. Also love Noctis being all "well I'm never sleeping again," and Prompto reasoning with the imp, and Ignis not being real thrilled about the comparison, and Noct taking video, and Prompto pulling it off without a hitch but then being freaked out because why did that work. But it makes sense, really, because you keep it all centered on Prompto's compassion. And hey, he's always trying to keep people's mood up, even when he's anxious at heart, so he's got some practice.

I also love "Quay deer" as a shorthand, because I am an absolute sucker for characters having bits of their own language between each other, especially because these guys would totally do that.

And Ardyn! Oh my god, Ardyn's perfect. I love his subdued and yet very telling reactions, and his winky selfie, and the literalist red giant, and the handshake mindflayer, and contrarian Noct suddenly being real into camping. I cracked up at the idea of the Astrals being used for advertising, and that developing into Kenny Crow. The image of Prompto getting his face into just the right angle for the shot is wonderful. And Prompto's notion of what a nice guy Ardyn is being justified! (Sort of.) Seriously man, I am loving this.

Cor and Iggy (who's 20 or over) put the Marshal's desk to a slightly more unconventional use.

Rare pairing love!

In an AU where no one dies at the end, Noctis is ruler of Lucis, and he appoints Prompto as governor of Niflheim (he's the only one left who can operate the technology, after all). He sends Ignis with him, figuring Prompto could use advice. Over time, Prompto's questions to Ignis become less "can we get the railroad running again?" and more "you, me, airship, blowjobs, what do you say?" How does Prompto's epic seduction play out?

Gladio and Noct are dating. So are Ignis and Prompto.

The thing is, they're doing it behind their best friend's back!

Noctis always smiles to himself in class these days and Prompto doesn't know why.

Prompto sometimes rushes "home" right after school. Apparently, Noctis learns that his "mom/dad" prepares him food these days.

Sometimes Ignis asks Gladio if he could chauffeur Noctis around in his place because he has some "urgent council matters to attend to".

Gladio keeps asking Ignis about gift suggestions but when Ignis asks about Gladio's mysterious crush(es) to better gauge what sort of things they might like, Gladio just nervously laugh it off

(A!A doesn't need to follow the above scenarios but they are some examples how they keep secrets away from each other)

A!A: This darlin little pairing is so under down, so I had to do this. I apologize for the lack of bro teasing, but I hope this is cute enough.

It was common knowledge amongst those who knew both men of just how besotted the young Shield in training was for his mentor, except for the Marshal himself. He stands and stares rigidly at the red faced eighteen-year-old, who had let out a rather undignified squeak and dropped an armful of training swords to the ground after the older man called out to him suddenly.

“You look feverish, it is unwise to stress your body out when you are unwell.”

“N, no I’m f, fine sir.” Gladio manages to stammer out, cursing to himself for messing up in front of his superior.

The young brunette sucks in a deep breath and turns even redder as the older man steps over to him, placing the back of his hand to the teen’s forehead to test his temperature.

“Hmm, a bit warm. All right, I won’t force you to go, but do take care not to over exert yourself.”

“Y, yes sir.” Gladio says and quickly collects up the dropped swords, scowling at the other trainees who pretend swoon behind the Marshal’s back before he dashes off. He puts the swords away and sighs deeply, giving himself a quick smack to the cheeks and cursing. “Gah I’m so stupid, can’t believe I made a noise like that and dropped things.”

“Neither can I, that was a crash and burn of epic proportions.” a familiar voice teases making the brunette groan.

“You actually came to training for once without me dragging your ass here?”

“Actually I came to watch you fall flat on your face whenever Cor walks by.” the Prince smiles cheekily. “I heard it’s getting worse.”

Gladio scowls at the younger teen but then sets his ire to the other teen feigning innocence a few feet behind.

“Well, he did show up here.” Ignis says and forms a thin smile. “And it’s understandable about your predicament, a lot of people find the Marshal handsome, they just have more self-control and not trip over themselves while gawking.”

“I hate you both.” Gladio grunts and stalks off.

Things only get progressively worse from there. He stumbled and fell flat on his face while running after the Marshal joined in with the trainees, walked into a stone pillar because he was too entranced watching the older man stretch, going catatonic after getting pinned when Cor decided to demonstrate a proper hold on the teen, and turning into a blushing mess after the older man walked into the showers after him with only a towel around his waist. The Marshal watches the teen as he stumbles his way from the training hall, concerned by the redness that tints his cheeks and ears. Maybe he should have a talk with Clarus, it’s obvious something is causing the boy some problems. He finds the man the next day and voices his concerns especially after seeing the boy crash over a bench while trying to run.

“I’m worried about Gladiolus, he has been messing up quite a lot lately and becomes flushed. He might be coming down terribly ill.”

Clarus looks to his younger companion, lips pursed as he tries to force down a snort. “I assure it’s nothing like that, he’s just having some teen boy issues like they all do.” he says but then remembers who he’s talking to. “Well, most of them anyway.”

Cor folds his arms and stares questioningly. “I don’t follow.”

“He has a crush, and it’s throwing his ability to focus out of whack.”

“Ah, I see. Then I shall remedy this by training him myself when no one else is present until he can overcome this malady. Can’t afford for the future King’s Shield to lose precious training time due to this unfortunate circumstance.”

“That won’t-” Clarus begins but then a devilish grin creeps onto his face. “You know what, that is a spectacular idea. You should start right away, and make sure you go very in depth during grappling training, I find his skills in the matter to be highly lacking.”

“Ah yes, I shall see to it. Thank you Clarus, I promise I will help your son get over this predicament and make him into a strong man.”

The Marshal excuses himself and heads back towards the training hall as Clarus burst out laughing while the King shakes his head.

“You are a horrible man Clarus.”

++The house is clean but it feels too clean, like it's being showcased or something (the only room looking remotely lived in is Prompto's bedroom

+++The bros visit more after that, and when the parents come home for a surprise visit, they're glad to see Prompto isn't by himself anymore and smiling and happy
