(You can also check out our Pinboard for Filled or Unfilled prompts)

UPDATE 3/2/2017: Per the Rules thread: Do not hijack prompts. I
f someone posts a prompt for one pairing, don't comment to say "I want to see this for [other kink]" - post your own prompt for the other kink). To that end, if you are unclear on a prompter's kinks/DNWs, please feel free to ask about them. If you ask about kinks/DNWs or to clarify a prompt, you are in no way obligated to fill it.

Additionally: Do not repost prompts from the previous round in their entirety. By this we mean copying and pasting prompts without any changes. If you see a similar prompt to a prior prompt, that is not a repost. Obviously prompts that are reposted per the above rule do not count either. (After all, they will be similar but not the same.)

ROUND TWO IS NOW CLOSED FOR PROMPTS!

Go ahead and keep on filling away, we will open up round three for prompts at 0000 EST, Saturday April 22, 2017.

Came here precisely for this, bless you OP.

Seconding this because it pretty much has to be canon? I can't see how the timeline works out otherwise if he was calling himself a Shield but sequestered himself during the reign of the Founding King, so if he wasn't serving that guy he had to have served someone previous who was mysteriously written out of history ... hrm, wonder who could that be ...?

(Though with the Founding King confirmed as 2000 years ago the Ultimania timeline is out of whack again damnit)

In other news I hope we meet Ardyn's Steward some day and they're as extra and drama-addicted as their King and his Shield.

OP: I honestly thought Gilgamesh looked like an MT. Glowing red eyes, mask and armour, and totally okay with losing a limb. (He's also way taller than regular people, just like MTs?) If he's not from Lucis, then he's probably from Solheim or wherever Ardyn got the idea for MTs in the first place.

Didn't want to mention it because I wanted to give more room for the imagination xD

Honestly that's equally interesting! (I have a lot of thoughts and theories about how long Solheim kept Magitek on a harness before Ifirt turned it against them.)

So I did some digging and I think there's a distinction between the king when the Kingdom of Lucis was founded and the king who first received the "Power of Kings." The ultimania has the power of kings granted in the ancient history section (probably to the Mystic seeing as his weapon description has him "[rising] to protect the world with the Oracle") while the founding of the Kingdom of Lucis was dated at 2000 years ago.

Furthermore, the statues was also built around 2000 years ago, probably by the Wise (his weapon description has him building a great wall which is likely the 12 statues of the old wall), which contain the souls of dead kings. Consider also that Ardyn has 13 weapons in his armiger which means it's likely there were 13 Lucii before him as the weapons are passed down to decedents. The 12 kings of the wall account for 12 of his weapons and the 13th is Ardyn's version of the Sword of the Father. Thus, since Ardyn's dad wasn't added to the wall, the Wise would be Ardyn's grandfather who built the wall around Insomnia which I'm assuming was the extent of the kingdom back then. Ardyn would then be the king who both united the other territories of Lucis into the Kingdom of Lucis and became both the founding king and the king who healed the Scourge.

Why am I mentioning all this? Mostly because I'm the one who did the mini-fill and I kinda want to turn it into a full fill but I can't until I somehow work out a history that makes sense to me. Something that's interesting to me is one of the statues also has a trident (and can warp), which means the Line of Lucis has oracle blood in it. If the blood was stronger back then, it would explain why Ardyn could heal.

So far, all I know I want to do is have Gilgamesh be the heir to a kingdom that was destroyed when Bahamut laid Ifrit asunder at the Rock of Ravataugh. When he's young he rejects his responsibilities as he doesn't have a kingdom in the first place and instead he seeks out swordfights and glory until he meets Ardyn. Past that, I don't really have anything else planned.

If you have any ideas, shoot em out and maybe I can try to cobble something together.
