A!A here: I don't have an AO3 account yet (they're giving me three more days to wait, boo hiss) but I am gonna post the chains fics on there as soon as I do, and I do want to expand on it.
My opinion is Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto are alive but in hiding with Cor and Luna. Noctis will get all the hugs. Every hug. Just... none from Ardyn.
