Different anon - my take on it is that Gladio is just really, really bad at dealing with emotions himself. He's clearly physically inclined and kind of a hothead, no matter how much he consciously tries to be responsible and stuff, and when things are severely stressful with no valid outlet, he lashes out because he can't deal with it.
Plus, he clearly idolised Clarus and Regis and clearly thought that 'stoic badass implacable Shield and wise responsible good King' was the ultimate dynamic to aspire to, which is why he is such a dick to Noct in the anime because all he's seeing is a bratty little kid who doesn't live up to his father and doesn't seem to care. He matures a bit and obviously learns more about Noct and becomes close to him on his own terms, as friends, but when the chips are down and he's dealing with his own shit (badly) that old bad habit of comparing him to the idealised Regis-style King he wanted so badly to be Shield to comes out.
Everything they worked for, pretty much, went up in smoke in Altissia, and there wasn't an easy target to beat up to fix it or get revenge. And Ignis got seriously hurt, on top of that, which had to make him feel like shit because they were on the same team doing evacuation stuff. And Noct's out for days, compounding the worry, and then instead of being kingly and pushing through after a few days (like Regis must have done when Noct's mom died) Noct was retreating into himself and hiding from his responsibilities for weeks, to an outside observer. I think all of that made him the unfortunate venting point for Gladio's frustration and poor emotional coping mechanisms, and what would have been a perfectly necessary 'i get it but we need to move forward' conversation came out terribly and angrily and then escalated rapidly.
Like, it's not just Noct - he shoves Prompto away by the face in the heat of the moment, and even as he's protective over Ignis, it seems to manifest in More Yelling or he ends up saying things that emphatically don't help or are accidentally insulting, and the scene after the Tomb is more of the same, but it's not from a genuine place of being mad at Ignis or even, I think, hating Noctis on any level - Gladio's just fucking terrible at handling stress and high tensions/emotions. Someone give the man an Ardyn punching bag to take his frustrations out on, please.
